For individuals who are recently unemployed – United Way may be able to help with some costs for rent and utilities.  You may call and schedule an appointment with Michelle at the Ottawa DHS office at 815-434-4003 on Thursdays from 1-3.  No walks in will be accepted -

 you must have an appointment. 

Other offices that are taking requests are

Streator Salvation Army (815) 672-2746.
